Our goal is to demonstrate to parents how predators operate in the digital age — and how to help protect their kids.

Bark was founded in 2015 by Brian Bason, a parent looking for ways to help keep his kids safe online. Our service monitors texts, email, and 30+ apps and social media platforms for activities that might indicate danger. Some of the most devastating issues we've encountered have been related to sexual predators. Since the beginning, we've worked closely with law enforcement in response to these instances of abuse. But we knew there was more work to be done.
Through the work of our Special Projects Team, Bark is able to give families real-life insight into where predators lurk, how they operate, and what parents and guardians can do to help protect their kids. It's our hope that our findings will empower families to better prepare their children for the challenges they may face online.

Even with open and ongoing conversations and strict parental controls, kids are still at risk whenever they’re online. One tactic families can use to help keep their kids safe is to monitor online activities for possible issues — not only online predators but also cyberbullying, suicidal thoughts, depression, self-harm, and more.
Bark monitors texts, email, YouTube, and 30+ apps and social media platforms and alerts families to potential concerns. Bark serves over 5 million children and is in 1,900 school districts throughout the U.S.
